Battery Dance Company Revives the Celebrated India-Inspired LAYAPRIYA for Concerts at BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center on March 5 and 6, 2009.

Battery Dance Company and BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center will co-present two concerts on Thursday, March 5 at 7:30 pm and Friday, March 6 at 8 pm, highlighted by the revival of Layapriya. This dance work choreographed by Jonathan Hollander draws inspiration from a rich blend of Indian and Western musical and dance traditions. Eero Hämeenniemi’s score for the piece is performed in recording by the Helsinki Philharmonic and Karaikudi Mani & Ensemble.
