FORDHAM UNIVERSITY'S ASIAN BUSINESS NETWORK PRESENTS
HOLLYWOOD IN THE DIGITAL AGE
When: Monday, January 8, 2007, 6 – 8 p.m.
Where: 12th Floor Lounge, Fordham University, 60th
Street 113 West @ Columbus Avenue
Film piracy, content distribution and format wars (Blu-ray versus HD-DVD) are just a few of the issues plaguing Hollywood in the digital age. How do you make best use of the new technologies to generate cash flow? What are the other major issues facing Hollywood? Join us for an enlightening discussion about the industry featuring Dr. Edward Jay Epstein, the venerable insider and author of 'The Big Picture' (Random House, Feb. 2005).
Epstein received a Ph.D. in government from Harvard in 1973. His master’s thesis on the search for political truth (The Warren Commission and the Establishment of Truth) and doctoral dissertation (News from Nowhere) were both published as books. Dr. Epstein taught political science at MIT and UCLA for three years but then decided that researching and writing books was a far more educational enterprise. 'The Big Picture: The New Logic of Money and Power in Hollywood' is his 13th book and he is currently researching a book on the 9-11 Commission. Many of his writings can be found on the Web, including Slate.com.
The event is FREE. RSVP with Som @ som_chivukula@yahoo.com.
