Thanks to a friend, here's more on the re-emergence of rumors about the Aish-Abhi wedding. A little suspiciously they first started during the shooting of "Umrao Jaan" and have re-surfaced now that the movie is releasing...along with the Aish-Abhi starrer "Dhoom".
Well, we only have to wait till Nov 1st, when according to the Bachchans' astrologer (how can he go on record like that if he plans on keeping his job?), Aishwarya is allowed to make the knowledge public...on her birthday. Strange stuff if ever I heard it.

Ash, Abhi to get engaged in Feb 2007

Mumbai, Oct 27: Grapevine has it that Bachchan junior and Aishwarya Rai would be tying the knot very soon. Reportedly they plan to get formally engaged in February next year. The date for the wedding is yet to be decided.

The families have agreed to Aishwarya and Abhishek entering wedlock. It must be mentioned that it was earlier reported that an astrologer close to both the families was consulted to match the janampatris of both the stars.

Aishwarya Rai and AB Jr, however, have kept their fans guessing whether the relationship between them is just friendship or something more.

Aishwarya is always tightlipped and Abhishek diplomatic when answering the questions regarding their relationship. In a recent TV interview, the two spoke about each other, but in very cautiously chosen words.

Ash said she and Abhi have grown to be “very good friends” who are “very comfortable working with each other”. Ash added that she shares “a wonderful camaraderie” with Abhishek.

Abhishek, on the other hand, called Ash “a very close friend” with whom “it is always a pleasure to work with”.

Ash and Abhi will soon be seen in three movies: J P Dutta’s Umrao Jaan, Sanjay Gadhvi`s Dhoom-2 and Mani Ratnam’s Guru. They are also likely to work together in Ram Gopal Varma’s Sarkar 2.
