You can think of a Bollywood movie without sex, or even without Shah Rukh, but without song-and-dance no Bollywood movie is complete, thinks no other but Bollywood badshah Shah Rukh Khan himself. Shah Rukh is quoted in several news media as saying...that song-and-dance numbers are unique to Indian cinema and should not be dropped to appeal to international audiences.
Critics often complain that songs, which pop up as dream sequences in most Indian movies, need to be curtailed since audiences overseas find them irrelevant to the plot. But Shah Rukh thinks even if movies get shorter than the average three-hour length, the song-dance routines must stay.
"Films are an important aspect of entertainment in India," said Khan. "We should retain the songs and dances - that's our USP (unique selling point)."
However Shah Rukh thinks Bollywood films are too long. "We do need to work on this aspect," opined Shah Rukh

The Bollywood badshah is not ready to serve in Hollywood even it is considered heaven. Bollywood king Shah Rukh Khan in a recent interview to a news channel said that he would prefer making good films in India rather than going to Hollywood, as "It is better to rule in hell than to serve in heaven." "I think they also make films as we do. I think I don't pertain to that. I would rather make a good film here than to go to Hollywood," clarified SRK.
Asked why Indian actors always aspire to go to Hollywood, he says it does not make sense to him.
