South Asian Actress for a recurring role in a network TV series
*Heery Casting* is searching for a South Asian Actress for a recurring role in a network TV series.

The series is "The Block", a scripted teen drama for MTV networks. The characters of Asha and her daughter, Dia, will be the FIRST South Asians as regular characters in American television.

The series begins shooting in April 2006, in Philadelphia. This is an AFTRA contract. Both union and non-union actors may apply.

Looking for:
ASHA Mid-Late 40s, Indian (South Asian). Elegant and refined Indian woman. Traditional in upbringing, but has made some strong, non-traditional choices(divorced her first abusive husband, now married to an American man). Very intelligent (PhD in Chemistry), a homemaker with a teenage daughter.

Looking for experienced VISUAL ARTIST/GRAPHIC DESIGNER to create South Asian-inspired titles/graphics for the film A SON'S SACRIFICE, produced for national PBS broadcast.

A SON'S SACRIFICE follows the journey of a young South Asian-American man, Imran, who confronts his roots by taking over his father's halal slaughterhouse in New York City. As a first generation American, Imran struggles to reconcile his identity with his immigrant father's practices in their traditional family business. This year, Imran must lead his community in a sacrifice that will define him as a son, as an American, and as a Muslim.
