Currently in production, this movie promises to be something. Described as "a big gangster movie" with kick-ass dialogues, not only is it an experiment in adaptation, setting Othello in an India mix, but the casting seems darn fantastic too. Film maker and music director Vishal Bhardwaj is using big Bollywood names to very good use:

* Saif Ali Khan, with his hard-won box-office charishma, will say goodbye to his pretty boy roles by playing Iago with a bald head, scars et al. Further his Iago will have a rustic UP accent. Especially this last one, coming from the young man who had trouble speaking Hindi in his initial movies, is awesome!

* the hot Vivek Oberoi, raring to go post the Aishwarya Rai break-up, will play the part of Cassius

* Ajay Devgan will play the part of Othello - we havent seen him in a while, but his acting has only continued to improve with age

*Kareena Kapoor will play Desdemona, and knowing her ability to mould herself to intense roles, we can't wait to see what she does

*Other parts will be played by Bipasha Basu, Konkona Sen Sharma and our favorite Naseeruddin Shah

After Maqbool's success (based on Shakespeare's Macbeth), I'm sure most of you, like me, can't wait to see this movie!
