In an amazing turnaround for Bollywood, a very popular Bollywood movie is to be remade for the Hollywood audience in English by Mira Nair. The movie in question is to be called Gangsta MD and the story is being written by Jason Fillardi of Bringing Down the House fame. It will start shooting next spring.

The inspiration for this movie has been the hilarious Bollywood hit Munnabhai MBBS. In the movie, Munnabhai (played by Sunjay Dutt) is a two timing conniving crook who lives the good life in Mumbai. The only catch is that his parents think they sent their son off to become a doctor, and when they come to visit him, dear Munna is afraid to tell them the truth. What ensues is a series of comedic incidents as Munna gets himself admitted to medical school, and tries to act out his parents' dreams.

The star of the English version is to be Chris Tucker if Mira Nair has her way and his love interest will likely be an Indian actress. We cant wait to see what Nair has in store for us!
