Vitra Fire Station [Weil Am Rheim, Germany]

The Vitra Fire Station was Hadid’s first built project. Completed in 1994, this small structure works as a showcase for the usual shapes and angles that distinguish Hadid’s work. Designed to define space rather than occupy space, the Fire Station sits at the outer limits of a landscaped zone that extends along the main street the cuts through the building complex.
