Salman Rushdie was awarded the "Booker of Bookers" Prize in 1981 for his novel, "Midnight's Children." The most famous of Anglo-Indian novelists, Rushdie is known for the magic realism in his stories, his use of Hindi and English in prose, and for the fatwa pronounced against him for writing, "The Satanic Verses." Rushdie now lives in New York.
