BMW 3 series Coupe
By Ashok Kalia
With the new 3 series four door saloon I thought BMW had gone a little too far with its radical design philosophy. And when I heard a new two door coupe version was coming I was filled with the same trepidation. Why change something that already looks so good. But boy was I wrong! Sure just looking at it on this page doesn’t quite do it justice, but in the flesh it looks significantly sleeker and every bit the premium executive car of choice.
What is remarkable is that although it appears noticeably heavier, bigger, longer and wider the new 3 series is in fact 10kg lighter.
On the inside it’s all grown up. For the first time the optional i-Drive system is now available in the 3 series. One control knob and a large screen set in the centre of the dash board now enables you to control and adjust everything from the satellite navigator to how long the lights stay on after you’ve locked it.
Overall the inside is considerably neatened up and much more business like with enough room in the back for two fully grown adults.
Available from £26k for the 2.0 litre petrol to the £38k for the 3.5 litre diesel Motorsports version, the new BMW 3 series range now comes in a whopping 16 different varieties in a mix of petrol, diesel, sports and for the first time - turbo.
Light weight materials combine with the very latest safety features creating one of the most effective and active safety systems available in a car today, giving you not only a fun but safe driving experience.
With the all new 3 series it is safe to say that BMW still sets the bench mark for premium executive cars today and have ensured their biggest seller will be as popular as ever.
