teri bataain hi sunanay aa'e
dost bhi dil hi dokhanay aa'e
just to narrate your stories did i come
just to wound my heart did you, my friend, come

phool khilte hein tu hum sochtae hein
teray aanay ke zamaanay aa'e
when flowers bloom, i find myself thinking
the season of your arrival has come

aisi kuch chup si lagi hai jaise
hum tujhe haal sunanay aa'e
so quiet and shy do i find myself as if
to show you my soul have i come

ishq tunha hai sir-e munzil-e ghum
kaun yeh boojH uthanay aa'e
love is lonely without the sadness of love
who to bear this burden will come

ajnabi dost humein dekh keh hum
kuch tujhe yaad dilaanay aa'e
stranger, after you perceived me a friend, i
to remind you a little of things did come

dil dharakta hai safr ke hungaam
kaash phir koi bulanay aa'e
starting this journey, my heart beats wildly
wishing someone to call me back will come

ab tu rounay se bhi dil dukhta hai
shaid ab hosh thikanay aa'e
now even weeping saddens my heart
perhaps my wits back to me have finally come

kya kahein phir koi busti ujri
laug kyooN jashun mananay aa'e
what to say, some home must be undone
why else would people to celebrate come

so raho maut ke pahloo mein Faraz
nind kis waqt na janay aa'e
stay close in this lap of death, Faraz
who knows when sleep your way will come
